The Enotah Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office is seeking to fill an Assistant Public Defender I position. This position will be responsible for representing indigent clients in criminal matters in Superior Court and indigent juveniles in Juvenile Court in delinquency proceeding from petition through appeal. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications outlined in the job description, have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for this position, and be a current member in good standings with the State Bar of Georgia. A strong commitment to indigent defense is also required.
Description of Duties: The Assistant Public Defender I will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients. This position performs beginning-level professional legal work and may assist in cases of routine complexity. To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university and a license to practice law in the State of Georgia. Performs other related duties as required.
