Kyle Hollomon Installed as Public Defender for the Cordele Judicial Circuit
CORDELE, GA – The Georgia Public Defender Council (GPDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kyle Hollomon as Circuit Public Defender for the Cordele Judicial Circuit, effective December 16, 2024.
Hollomon brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, with a background in criminal defense and legal research, said Omotayo Alli, GPDC Executive Director.
“We are thrilled to have Kyle Hollomon join the Cordele Judicial Circuit as our new Circuit Public Defender,” Omotayo said. “His commitment to justice and passion for defending the rights of the accused make him an invaluable asset to his community.”
Hollomon was sworn in by Dublin Circuit Defender Clay Tapley on Monday, December 16th, 2024, at the Crisp County Courthouse in Cordele, GA.
Hollomon is responsible for assuring that indigent clients receive zealous defense and get the best resolution for their case throughout the Cordele Judicial Circuit which includes Ben Hill, Crisp, Dooly, and Wilcox counties.
Hollomon, a 2017 graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law has since held several notable positions in the legal field. These include serving the Georgia Public Defender Council as Assistant Public Defender in the Houston Judicial Circuit and Cordele Judicial Circuit, as well as working as a Staff Attorney at Cordele Judicial Circuit. Hollomon’s prior experience as an Associate Attorney at Lewis Brisbois and as a Judicial Law Clerk for Cordele Judicial Circuit further solidified his expertise in the field.
The Georgia Public Defender Council provides legal representation to approximately 85 percent of individuals charged with crimes in Georgia. Established in 2003 by Georgia’s General Assembly, the Council operates offices across each of Georgia’s 10 judicial circuits, representing defendants in Juvenile, State, Superior and appellate courts.
