Position Overview:
The Georgia Public Defender Council (GPDC) is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney or firm to serve as an Independent Contractor within the Dougherty Judicial Circuit. This role is ideal for an attorney with a strong litigation background and commitment to client-centered representation who desires flexibility and autonomy while making a tangible impact in the criminal justice system. The Contractor must have the capacity and infrastructure (administrative and investigative support) to handle serious criminal cases.
The contractor will be responsible for handling no more than 100 cases per year, ensuring quality and focused legal representation. Compensation is set at $100,000 annually.
