Appalachian Judicial Circuit – Assistant Public Defender IV (County Position)


The Appalachian Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office is seeking to hire an Assistant Public Defender IV.  Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities of the position and must be a current member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.  Experience in handling all levels of cases from arrest through trial; be self-motivated; capable of independently handling a caseload.  Interested in being part of a close-knit team; and good at resolving cases, both in negotiation and trial skills.

Description of Duties: The Assistant Public Defender IV will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients in the Complex Trail division of Superior Court. This position performs as an expert attorney, assigned to serious, high-profile, and significant felony cases. Performs other related duties as assigned.
