Waycross Judicial Circuit – Assistant Public Defender II

The Waycross Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office is seeking to fill an Assistant Public Defender II position.  Primary duties will include representation of indigent criminal defendants in the Superior Courts of the six counties of the Waycross Judicial Circuit.  Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities of the position.  Experience in all areas of criminal defense, including having served as lead counsel in jury trials, is preferred. The chosen applicant will be a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia and must have a strong commitment to indigent criminal defense.

Description of Duties:  The Assistant Public Defender II will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients in Superior and Magistrate Courts. This position performs beginning-level professional legal work and may assist in cases of routine complexity. Performs other related duties as required.
