The Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office is seeking to fill an Assistant Public Defender II or III position. Primary duties include representing indigent clients in Superior Court and misdemeanor courts in the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit (Baldwin, Jones, Putnam, Jasper, Morgan, Greene, Hancock, and Wilkinson Counties). Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for the position: including but not limited to, preparation and presentation of cases for trials and/or pleas in both felony and misdemeanor cases. Applicants must be a current member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia and admitted to practice in all the Courts of the State of Georgia. A significant history of criminal defense work is a prerequisite.
