The Middle Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office has three (3) vacancies for an Assistant Public Defender III or IV. The salary range is $70,000-$80,000 per year with an additional guaranteed supplement of $20,000 per year for the first two (2) years. The Circuit consists of Emmanuel, Burke, Candler, Toombs, Richmond, and Washington counties. Primary duties include representing indigent clients in misdemeanor and felony cases in Superior Court. Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for the position. Applicants must be a current member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of three years Superior Court trial experience and strong commitment to indigent defense is required. Trial experience is preferred.
