The Atlanta Central Office of the Georgia Public Defender Council is accepting résumés for the position of Legal Recruitment Manager.

In today’s employment environment, the Manager will ensure that the unique opportunities available at GPDC are communicated to law schools and experienced lawyers.

Job Description:

GPDC is seeking a Legal Recruitment Manager (LRM) to join our innovative and collaborative team at the Central Office in Atlanta. The LRM will be responsible for promoting employment opportunities within GPDC and will oversee outreach to local and state partners. They will focus on coordinating recruiting programs for GPDC’s Alternate and Specialized units and assisting with the recruitment needs of the Circuit offices.

Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

The LRM is responsible for supervising internship programs, supervising provision attorneys, reviewing candidate resumes, coordinating interview schedules, and participating in evaluations. The LRM will also create, manage and maintain a recruitment database, travel to, attend and coordinate an on-campus interview program, and prepare registration materials for on-campus interviewing (OCI) at law schools. The LRM will coordinate OCI partnerships, processes, and callbacks, extend and accept offers to candidates, and design and execute on and off-campus events as necessary for recruitment purposes. In addition, the LRM will:

  • Full cycle recruitment for attorney and leadership levels across GPDC
  • Work with GPDC attorney management teams to understand their hiring needs and challenges and craft targeted recruitment strategies and processes to help meet their hiring needs
  • Ensure the implementation of best practices processes to promote diversity and inclusivity at each stage in the hiring process.
  • Implement a comprehensive talent pipeline and secure new candidates by creating and implementing a comprehensive sourcing strategy and engaging with top attorney talent while building positive, lasting relationships.
  • Oversee all aspects of GPDC volunteer and pro-bono programs.

Candidates should have excellent soft skills, including interpersonal skills, communications, and organizational skills. Candidates should be able to build trusting, productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates for the Legal Recruitment Manager position shall possess a law degree, be a member of the State Bar of Georgia, and have at least ten years of experience as an attorney. Backgrounds in public defense are preferred.
