The Georgia Public Defender Council is hiring an Independent Contractor Defense Attorney for the Cordele Judicial Circuit. The Contractor must have five (5) years’ experience as an attorney, with the ability to try the most serious felonies. The Contractor must be in private practice and have all the necessary infrastructure, such as an Investigator and Administrative Assistant, to fully represent the assigned clients. The Contractor must be an attorney licensed and in good standing with the bar in the State of Georgia.

Description of Duties: The contractor will try the most serious felony cases. The contract is for $50,000.00 for 50 cases (through disposition) assigned over the course of one (1) year.
