Griffin Judicial Circuit (Pike County) – Assistant Public Defender I or II


The Griffin Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office is seeking to hire an Assistant Public Defender I or II in Pike County. Applicants must have the required skills to perform the responsibilities and the position requirements. The primary responsibilities include assisting and/or handling indigent clients’ representation with criminal case(s) in Superior Court. Experience in handling criminal cases, exceptional organization skills, and a strong commitment to indigent defense is preferred. The candidate must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.

Description of Duties: The Assistant Public Defender I or II will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients. This position performs beginning-level to mid-level professional legal work and may assist in cases of routine complexityTo be considered for this position, candidates must possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university and a license to practice law in the State of Georgia. Performs other related duties as required.
