Eastern Judicial Circuit – Assistant Public Defender III


The Eastern Judicial Circuit Public Defender Office is seeking to hire an Assistant Public Defender III. The primary duties include representing indigent clients with criminal cases in Chatham County Superior Court. Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the position’s essential duties and responsibilities. Emphasis will be placed upon candidates’ demonstrated commitment to indigent defense. Applicants must possess 3-5 years of criminal defense experience. Applicants must be a current member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia. Description of Duties: The Assistant Public Defender III will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients. This position performs as a lead attorney, assigned to serious, high-profile, and significant felony and appellate cases.
