The Alternate Public Defender (Southeast) is seeking to hire an Assistant Public Defender III. This office serves the Atlantic, Brunswick, and Ogeechee Circuits that include the following Counties: Liberty, Tattnall, McIntosh, Evans, Long, Bryan, Appling, Camden, Glynn, Jeff Davis, Wayne, Bulloch, Effingham, Jenkins and Screven. Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for the position, including preparing cases for trial, zealously advocating and defending their client, seeking and negotiating plea depositions, and entering pleas in the felony cases in Superior Court. A strong commitment to indigent defense as well as 4+ years of trial experience is also required. Applicants must be current member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
