Alternate Public Defender: Fulton County – Assistant Public Defenders I, II, III or IV (Grant-funded)


The Alternate Public Defender Office is seeking to hire Assistant Public Defenders I, II, III, or IV.   The applicant’s primary duties include representing indigent clients with criminal case(s) in the Juvenile Courts of Fulton County,  the clients charged with misdemeanors in the Superior Court of Fulton County, and indigent clients with criminal cases in the Superior Court of Fulton County.  The applicant must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for the position.  In addition, the applicant must be a current member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.  A strong commitment to indigent defense is also required.

Duration: Funding is provided until December 31, 2024.

Grant Funded: This position is funded through the State of Georgia.

Description of Duties:  The Assistant Public Defenders will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients.  This position performs as an expert attorney, assigned to serious, high-profile, and significant felony cases.  Performs other related duties as assigned.
