Rockdale County Mental Health Court began in July of 2016 and serves a high risk/high need population of adults charged with crimes in Rockdale County. The program is post-adjudication and lasts a minimum of 18 months. Court is held every Thursday at 3:30PM.

Rockdale Image 2Mental health services provided by View Point Health include individual and group counseling. Other requirements of the program include court attendance, 12-step meetings, and drug testing. As all treatment plans are individualized, there may be specific courses of treatment for those with specific needs, such as parenting classes, trama counseling, et. al.

Mental Health Court is a five-phase intervention program for adults who have plead guilty to one or more offenses and who require the necessary treatment for their mental illness and/or staying clean and sober. The court awards incentives for compliant behavior and imposes sanctions for negative behavior, such as missing drug screens, missing counseling sessions, failure to attend group sessions, acting out, etc. Sanctions can include custody, moving back a phase, and possible termination.
