Chief Assistant Public Defender (Senior Manager, Legal Services)

The Western Circuit has an opening for Chief Assistant Public Defender (Senior Manager, Legal Services).  The Western Circuit covers Athens-Clarke and Oconee counties. Preference will be given to applicants who have at least ten years of experience practicing law in a Public Defender’s office, demonstrated legal expertise in Juvenile and Superior courts, and proficiency in handling serious felony cases.  The applicant should also have a proven ability to supervise Assistant Public Defenders and office staff. The chosen candidate must live in the Western Circuit. Salary is flexible and is based on experience.  This is a State-funded position. Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for this position. Applicants must be a current member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
